- Marathon participants must be at least 16 years old on race day.
- Half Marathon participants must be at least 12 years old on race day.
- Relay participants must be at least 12 years old on race day. See additional race policies for minors participating in relay HERE.
- There are no age restrictions for the 5K race.
- Kids Fun Run participants must be 10 years old or younger on race day.
Need to make a change to your registration? Please read through our policies so you know what your options are. The deadlines and requirements are outlined below. Please understand that we cannot make exceptions to these policies.
We are not able to issue refunds under any circumstance, however, you do do have the option of deferring or transferring your marathon or half marathon registration, as explained below.
Transfer request deadline: Sunday, September 29, 2019
Please email your registration transfer request no later than one week prior to race day. This email must include the name, address, email, date of birth, and gender of BOTH the original and new registrants.
If you are transferring to a race that is MORE expensive, this difference must be paid BEFORE the transfer is made. If you are transferring to a race that is LESS expensive, please be aware that you will forfeit this difference.
Deferral request deadline: Sunday, September 29, 2019
You may defer your registration (full and half marathon ONLY) to the following year only and must email us no later than one week prior to the event. NO EXCEPTIONS.
You will receive a coupon code to use for next year’s registration, which will take 50% off of next year’s fee.
We plan to offer multiple opportunities for packet pickup. More information coming soon!
Parking at Forest Park will be limited. We encourage carpooling and will provide further information about specific parking locations closer to race day.
There are a number of parking facilities to choose from in downtown Springfield. Please visit the Springfield Parking Authority website for more information.
The 5K will begin promptly at 8:00 am by the Walker Grandstand in Forest Park.
All Sunday races, including the full marathon, half marathon, and relay, will begin at 7:30 am at Court Square in Springfield. Runners will be asked to line up for a waved start, according to pace.
The Kids Fun Run will begin at approximately 8:00 AM, after the other racers have left the area.

All 5K registrants will receive a short sleeved t-shirt (size not guaranteed). All 5k finishers will receive a custom finishers medal (distributed at the finish line).
All relay registrants will receive a long sleeved t-shirt (size not guaranteed). All relay finishers will receive a custom finishers medal (distributed at the 3 exchange points and the final finish line).
Half & Full Marathons
All half and full marathon registrants will receive a long sleeved t-shirt (size not guaranteed). All half and full marathon finishers will receive a custom finishers medal (distributed at the finish line).
Kids Fun Run
All kids fun run registrants will receive a short sleeved t-shirt (size not guaranteed). All kids fun run finishers will receive a custom finishers medal (distributed at the finish line).
All participants who COMPLETE THE CHALLENGE will also receive a custom challengers medal!
Half marathon participants should plan to finish in 3 hours, 30 minutes or sooner.
Marathon participants should plan to finish in 6 hours, 30 minutes or sooner.
There will be one water stop on the 5K route, at approximately the half way point.
13 aid stations will be provided along the course placed approximately 1.5 – 2 miles apart. All aid stations will be staffed and will have water and an electrolyte beverage (brand TBA). Each aid station will be equipped with a first aid kit.

Medical Services & Toilets
Medical stations and portable toilets will be located at several points on the half/full/relay courses. Please stay tuned for more specific location information.
Strollers will be allowed in the 5K race on Saturday only and should line up toward the back of the race field. No strollers will be permitted on the relay/half marathon/marathon course on Sunday.
For the safety of our participants, we will not be allowing dogs on the race course.
For your safety, please wear headphones in one ear only or consider bone conduction headphones so you can hear people and cars around you.
Please contact us to request a military discount. Proper identification will be required.
In the case that extreme weather poses a risk for our race participants, we will first attempt to delay the start of the races. If this is not sufficient to keep our participants safe, we may be forced to cancel the race. Please be aware that no refunds or postponed race date will be available in the case of extreme weather.
